Anxiety — Original Polymer Clay Sculpture

In this polymer clay sculpture, the human body is stripped of all distinguishing features, leaving only the pure expression of emotion. The figure, deliberately elongated and faceless, becomes a universal mirror where the viewer can project their own feelings.

The focal point of the piece lies in the visceral twist that splits the torso. This organic deformation symbolizes the internal knot—that physical sensation where mind and body intertwine under the pressure of anxiety or deep reflection. The hands pressed against the head accentuate this retracting movement, trapping a thought that the character's silence makes all the more deafening.

The use of gray clay with mineral nuances gives the figure an almost geological timelessness, while the solid pine base provides a warm and textured anchor. This contrast between the tormented malleability of the polymer and the rigid stability of the wood highlights the human quest for balance in the face of its own storms.
