Social Dance - Polymer Clay Sculpture
Shared Momentum
By Sylvain Joannette
Two bodies lean, respond to each other, confide in each other.
In this fragile, almost suspended balance, a silent conversation is born — that of movement, trust, and letting go.
Stripped of all faces, the figures become universal. They are no longer two people, but all stories at once. A moment where guiding and following become one, where the tension of the gesture reveals the tenderness of the bond.
Hand-sculpted from polymer clay, this sculpture embodies a search for the essential: pure lines, a raw presence, an emotion without artifice. The patinated finish, with metallic nuances, captures the light and highlights the dance of forms.
Mounted on a base of recycled solid pine, the artwork is anchored in matter while evoking movement — between stability and abandon.
