Betrayal — Original polymer clay sculpture
This refined polymer clay sculpture embodies, through a faceless male silhouette, resilience in the face of betrayal. The figure, slender yet withdrawn with crossed arms, adopts a posture of retreat and protection.
The sculpture's matte mineral grey surface is scarred by an "erased" patina that highlights a dense network of blackened cracks. At the center of the chest, in the symbolic place of the heart, a deep, gaping scar seems to have taken away a part of the being's substance.
These cracks do not weaken the figure's structure but become part of its identity. The dark patina, embedded in the grooves, testifies to invisible wounds that, rather than erasing it, define the contours of its strength. The artwork invites meditation on vulnerability and the ability to remain standing, despite the accumulated impacts throughout an existence.
